TRANSCRIPT

Perfect parenting. Does it exist? These days, with many documenting their every move on social media, it seems some parents are facing more online judgement when it comes to how they raise their children. A new study out of the University of Michigan found most mothers have been "mom shamed." 60 percent of mothers polled in a national study admitted they have been criticized for their parenting style.

The top areas of criticism include discipline, feeding, sleep, safety, child care, diet and nutrition. But researchers say unsolicited advice can do more harm than good, saying "mothers can get overwhelmed by so many conflicting views on the 'best' way to raise a child." Half of the mother's polled said they avoid people who are too critical of their parenting.
