Former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson told the committee she experienced a wide-ranging pressure campaign from Donald Trump’s allies aimed at influencing her cooperation with Congress and stifling potentially damaging testimony about Trump. In extraordinary closed-door testimony made public, Hutchinson said those in the former president’s circle dangled job opportunities and financial assistance as she was cooperating with the committee investigating the Capitol riot. The U.S. National Weather Service warned Thursday that a major and unusual storm system affecting nearly two-thirds of the United States is forecast to produce “a multitude of winter weather hazards” over the next three days, including heavy snow, strong winds and dangerously cold temperatures.
