Crews are digging roads and buildings out of mud in the southwestern US after Tropical Storm Hilary passed through. Some Southern California mountains saw close to a foot of rain. Flood watches and warnings went into effect in at least a half a dozen states.
President Biden visited the island of Maui, Hawaii, almost two weeks after the wildfire that killed at least 115 people. The president promised that the federal government will provide help for ‘as long as it takes.’
Former President Donald Trump said he will surrender to authorities in Georgia on Thursday. He is accused in a scheme to overturn his 2020 election loss in that state. Bond was set at $200,000.
Thailand’s ex-Prime Minister returned to that country after years of self-imposed exile. He entered prison to begin serving an eight-year sentence just a few hours later. At the same time, a political party affiliated with him plans to start forming a new government.
