u TRANSCRIPT

The former head of Britain's intelligence services, MI6 has warned that the country is going through a political crisis with deep divisions as it grapples with Brexit. John Sawers told the BBC that the UK's international reputation had been damaged and that current politicians and neither of the main parties seemed likely to be able to restore it. We are going through a sort of political nervous breakdown here in the UK. We have potential prime ministers being elected by the Conservative Party now, by in the shape of the leader of the opposition, who do not have the standing that we have become used to in our top leadership.
