We all know that plastic water bottles, soda cans, and cardboard boxes are recyclable,but there are some more obscure items that we might be tossing out when they could be recycled.
According to Business Insider, you can recycle your old toilet. Recycling facilities use the porcelain and turn it into concrete for roads or sidewalks.
Either find a recycling facility that takes porcelain, or bring the toilet to a Habitat for Humanity center.
And while your standard toothbrush can't be recycled directly, you can mail used toothbrushes for free to TerraCycle, which will recycle them into useful school supplies.
Another overlooked recycle item is electronics. Americans throw away 9.4 million tons of electronics each year, but phones, computers, printers, and other electronic equipment are actually recyclable.
