猪肉降价CPI涨幅创新低

China's consumer inflation eased for a third straight month and hit an 11-year low in October as food prices tumbled, official data showed Tuesday.

11月10日公布的官方数据显示，随着食品价格下跌，10月份全国居民消费价格指数(CPI)连续第三个月回落，并创下近11年来的新低。

The consumer price index rose 0.5% year-on-year last month, narrowing from the 1.7% rise in September, according to data from the National Bureau of Statistics.

国家统计局公布的数据显示，10月CPI同比上涨0.5%，涨幅比9月回落1.2个百分点。

On a monthly basis, consumer prices dropped 0.3%. Food prices went down 1.8% last month.

从环比看，CPI下降0.3%，食品价格下降1.8%。

Dong Lijuan, a senior statistician at NBS, attributed the tamed inflation to the drop in food prices, especially eggs, vegetables and pork.

国家统计局高级统计师董丽娟表示，当前CPI同比下降幅度更大，主要是由于食品价格下跌，特别是鸡蛋、蔬菜和猪肉价格。

Prices of eggs and vegetables dropped 2.3% and 2.1%, respectively, from September amid abundant supply.

Pork prices fell 7% last month, a further decline of 5.4 percentage points from September.

On a yearly basis, the price of pork fell for the first time after growing for 19 consecutive months, dropping 2.8%.

同比来看，猪肉价格在连续上涨19个月后首次转降，下降2.8%。
