New Education Department numbers show 54% of US elementary and middle schools offered full-time classroom learning in March. President Biden had a goal of having most elementary and middle schools open for in person learning during his first 100 days in office.

 

The White House says a program to help restaurants, bars and eateries that lost business during the pandemic is accepting applications. It says more than 186,000 businesses applied in the first two days.

 

Canada is now the first country to approve the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 12-15. US and European authorities are reviewing the Pfizer vaccine and could green light it for that age group.

 

SpaceX successfully launched and landed its futuristic Starship in south Texas on Wednesday. The company hopes to use the spacecraft to send people to the Moon and Mars.
